It depends. If this water connects to the ocean, then yes; the group that went into the sea ran into wolves there too. But otherwise I don't think so.

They will find........the lid removes rather easily. Well, for them at least. For an absolutely normal person, it's heavy as fuck, and will make a scraping noise when pulled off. One that rings through the city, and they may hear the sounds of growls in the distance.

Inside. . .is pitch black. They can't see the bottom.

There's a single ladder though. So they can climb down or simply take a leap of faith.]
