Not as good as a schoolmate of mine, I'm afraid, but I can create an illusion so long as we have something of similar size to replace our Shepherd with.

Can you make them vanish, too?

Anything living and capable of doing harm, I can hide.

Perhaps, but we'd have to lure one, and that alone will be risky. And we don't know what our Shepherd looks like yet, do we.

Could you cast a glamor at the priest's location? Perhaps that would be a bit complicated, but if you could make an image of the priest the moment they were made invisible...

I could, but as I said, we'd need something to cover with a glamor. I'd place the object myself, but it's likely using my magic will reveal me if I'm there- so I'd need someone invisible there to place it as soon as the Priest is taken.

The glamor will only last a few minutes, as well. I can try and hold it for five at most.

Me and Scarab can handle placing whatever we find to use, but we should probably try to get a look at the priest first. If you need an object of similar size, we gotta know what size we're working with.

Guess we should go ahead and sneak in closer, then play that plan by ear...

If some sort of cloaking is cast, just be careful not to bump into any of the merwolves. They can't see you, but they can smell you. . .usually. Everyone's scents are more muted underwater, so occasionally they'll see a masked merwolf looking their way in confusion, before swimming off with the others.

They don't have to follow them long to see what they're heading for--a beach of sorts, but before hitting the shore, there's a lone rock sticking out of the water. Should any of them break the surface to get a better look, they'll see a shadowy figure kneeling on the rock. . .chanting/singing the song that lead them here.

Strangely, they also seem to wearing a mask, but the others don't seem so friendly with them, taking turns to leap out of the water to swipe at them with long shadowy claws, only to be pushed back by some sort of barrier. Others try to make their way to the beach, only to be repelled by a similar barrier.

As for why. . .in the distance, there's a giant mass of something. But we can cross that bridge if they get to it.

It could, but I'd still need something convincing to cast the glamor on and move it around as such.

I can, yes.

Then this could work. We need to find something just big enough for my glamor. I can increase the size of the effect, but it works best the closer the object is in size to the projection.

We're still using something inanimate, but I need it moved and levitated far enough to be an effective enough distraction because I can't do that and maintain the glamor at the same time.

What about the rock the priest is on? If we can have some kind of barrier maintained while one of us grabs them then you can immediately cast the illusion after. Have the wolf king wannabe rise from the ground.

That could work. As long as you're able to lift it off. We're going to have to be at a safe distance and send the rock flying when we have the priest retrieved after creating enough of a commotion. We don't want to be followed or noticed ourselves.

How's everyone else feeling about this?

I think it's a plan that can work, but what's the plan after you've got them? Are they even gonna want to come back with us? If they're only protecting themselves, sure, but what if there's something on that beach they're trying to keep the sea wolves away from?
