ALL SHEPHERD MENTIONS WERE PRIEST I'M SLEEPY SHH
Re: ALL SHEPHERD MENTIONS WERE PRIEST I'M SLEEPY SHH
If some sort of cloaking is cast, just be careful not to bump into any of the merwolves. They can't see you, but they can smell you. . .usually. Everyone's scents are more muted underwater, so occasionally they'll see a masked merwolf looking their way in confusion, before swimming off with the others.
They don't have to follow them long to see what they're heading for--a beach of sorts, but before hitting the shore, there's a lone rock sticking out of the water. Should any of them break the surface to get a better look, they'll see a shadowy figure kneeling on the rock. . .chanting/singing the song that lead them here.
Beast of time, please spare yours
Save us from violence, save us from wars
To keep the peace I will forever sing
Until your scales of justice ring~
Strangely, they also seem to wearing a mask, but the others don't seem so friendly with them, taking turns to leap out of the water to swipe at them with long shadowy claws, only to be pushed back by some sort of barrier. Others try to make their way to the beach, only to be repelled by a similar barrier.
As for why. . .in the distance, there's a giant mass of something. But we can cross that bridge if they get to it.
What do.]
Re: ALL SHEPHERD MENTIONS WERE PRIEST I'M SLEEPY SHH
he doesn't want to break the vanish, just yet, so angie's going to use this time to slide in an extra layer of his own flavor of rainbow hexagon Protect barrier on top of the one that's already around the masked singer. ]
Re: ALL SHEPHERD MENTIONS WERE PRIEST I'M SLEEPY SHH
...I think maybe a distraction will be a better idea than a replacement. Something to draw the attackers away from the barrier.
How large of an illusion can we work with? Would an incredibly large wolf be possible?

Leviathan, you can use levitation magic, can't you?

[ He looks a bit devious. ]

[Don't even.]
A large rock, or... one or more of the merwolves, perhaps.

[ HE'S NOT TART WHO WOULD ABSOLUTELY USE LIVE BAIT. ]
We're still using something inanimate, but I need it moved and levitated far enough to be an effective enough distraction because I can't do that and maintain the glamor at the same time.

What about the rock the priest is on? If we can have some kind of barrier maintained while one of us grabs them then you can immediately cast the illusion after. Have the wolf king wannabe rise from the ground.

That could work. As long as you're able to lift it off. We're going to have to be at a safe distance and send the rock flying when we have the priest retrieved after creating enough of a commotion. We don't want to be followed or noticed ourselves.

[ time to use some good ol stealthy telepathy on their priest.
@ them,
Are you protecting the beach? Wave for yes. ]

but their shadowy tail...wags?? yes]

We'll have to see what they're protecting, then.

[ Eying the horde of sea wolves warily ]
Let's hurry and get up there before we get noticed. We don't want a commotion before we're ready.

Then let's move.
[ He'll be swimming away once everyone turns! ]

Angie, at least, can just start floating around once they're out of the ocean. ]

He steps out of the water on two legs, keeping an eye on the merwolves. If there didn't seem to be an endless supply of them they might be able to simply take them all out. Alas. He'd liked the idea of just grabbing the priest and running for it.]

But when they swim to the beach, they actually break their chant, calling out--]
WAIT, NOT YET--
[As soon as any of them step foot on to the beach, that other barrier reverberates, and golden chains seemingly shoot out from the ground...except they aren't chains, they're snake coils, blocking their way further.
The mist wolves, both the ones on land and water, perk their ears up. They can't see the sheep but they can see ALL THAT. Strangely, half of them don't bother trying to sniff out the intruders, instead going for the coil chains, violently trying to pull off as many scales as possible. Others begin to sing their own songs. . .
Roll 1d10! If lower than 5, you suddenly view someone else in the party as either 1) your most hated enemy or 2) someone you're madly in love with]
