[He tilts his head.]

What are you making?

[He simply takes a couple of deep breaths, his eyes closed, his arrows already packed and a sword at his hip. No Mute this time. It feels so strange. And Leo-- he can recall his name properly, now. Leo has vanished too.

It is alright though. This trip is not about him. It is about John Deer. He just needs to focus. Because otherwise, their dear friend will continue to struggle all alone, and it is the last thing he wants.

Afterall... he feels that, to some extent, he can understand how John feels.]

I am preparing a bow staff for seasoning--that is, it needs to dry out over time in order to be made into a bow later.

Be careful not to cut yourself.

Fufu, I'll be sure to take care. I was thinking of moving on to arrows once this is ready to set. Have you had a decent enough supply?

[He sighs, slinging his quiver off of his back.]

This was the most I could manage at my skill level. I am not sure how useful any of the ones I have are when it comes to creatures in the mist, either. I do not have any more poison left from Persephone-san.

So... I am a little worried that I will be a liability to everyone.

[Taking the arrows to look them over with a critical eye]

You are feeling your limitations. Mm, that is a valuable skill, to be able to accurately measure yourself against something you intend to face. I imagine it is frustrating though?

[ He nods, before his shoulders slump a bit and his gaze turns downward.]

I feel so incredibly discouraged. I have tried. I have tried so very hard to keep up with everyone. But it feels like no matter what I do, it is just not enough.

I have nothing left in my toolkit. My speed, agility, and strength- all of that disappeared with the ears and tail. Even the trade I had made for the ability to manipulate sound has entirely vanished.

[Even the mer spell... when everyone had gone questing in the ocean, they had left him behind.

. . . And he is no longer anyone's "Little Cat".]

I cannot keep up. This place does not feel suited to people like me. To 'normies'. I am sorry. I know that I must sound so self-deprecating right now. I just wanted to be useful. I want to give back just as everyone else has done for me. Just once, I want to be relied upon. To be necessary for someone. Anyone at all.

But all of the power I thought I had finally gathered to meaningfully help vanished in the blink of an eye. And my heart is heavy with the loss of Mute-kun and Leo-- Tocatta-san.

I am painfully afraid that one day you will all realize how inadequate I am, and I will lose the love of even Bluebell, which is all that I have left to cling to.

Suddenly, it feels like there are several Eyes on them all of sudden, and the earth seems to move under them at impossible speed, though they haven't taken a step themselves. It could be a bit disorienting, honestly, but as soon as it becomes uncomfortable, it stops. And they're on solid ground again.

Well. It feels like they're on solid ground. But it's hard to tell. Since they don't have a Weed escort, the Mist swirls all around them. You hear whispers of despair, voices crying out for death. You can't tell which way is up and which way is down.

( as a note, harmony has been developing- or redeveloping- her life serum. there are several vials of an aqua-colored liquid. they are filled with proteins, nutrients, fats, minerals, potassium... and a bunch of other fun things. but she doesn't seem satisfied... yet. )

I need a way to activate these, but if it does work, it can rapidly replenish life.

[ Urgently grabbing hold of every single Bluebell with his long noodle arms ]

( unfazed, but she is holding on to whoever's closest tightly. )

[The magic has gone out of the little bits of antler that John once gave them, but Rubato has brought his along anyway, set in a piece of wood he's carved into an antler shape. Possible that he's gotten the other pieces set in it also if the others don't have sentimental attachment to theirs. Why? Dunno, magic reasons. Seemed worth returning.

Anyway, they've got their thread tying them together, but he'll hang on to the closest Bluebells also until everyone can pick a direction.]

[ in addition to rubato's thread, fantasia's going to attempt to wrangle each one of the other bluebell using one of his vines. it'll be a small one, so it's not too in the way, but the more ways they're tethered together the better, especially in the mist. he's also holding onto tempo, who is holding onto his own weaponry and chirping angrily at anything that comes close to them. ]

I think it might just be best to wander... let our hearts guide us, you know?
