Well, I suppose that I do not know. I do not have magic, so I am unsure how to study magic. But perhaps someone else would...?

[Curious, though. He touches it lightly for a second time, a little less tentatively this time. A dream...

If this place is stuck with a possible nightmare cloud... what if they tried something positive, instead? Like imagining this pasture as a sunny bright place, vibrant and full of life. A beacon to the rest of the land.]

It also, starts glowing somewhat?? as if there's a sun inside it.]

What did you do? That seems like magic.

Is this a good thing? It is bright, though.]

It just... felt a little bit like a dream, so I wished for a positive one.

[He will try further, and imagine that sunflowers dot the land, with lots of clean fresh water, and beautiful trees- a safe haven, full of peace. Recalling what he saw in the dream back with the goddess of dreams, of John struggling... he tries to imagine flowers blooming beneath his hooves as he trots across the land. Rather than decrepit and dark, the buildings are like new- everything fresh.]

[the cloud slowly becomes bigger and bigger--and Cres will feel something at his feet. "flowers blooming beneath his hooves."

Some grass and vines briefly sprout by their legs, before dissolving into a shimmering dust. John looks on wide eyed.]

I've never had a real dream before. Or one I remember, anyway. I don't understand. So I can't. . .do anything? I can only dream it?

I just want to help. . .

[He retracts his hand from the cloud before nearing John. Closing his eyes, he gently rests his forehead against his.]

More than anything, that is the one thing I wish to do too. I understand. I understand how frustrating it is to try so hard and feel as though you are falling short.

[He understands so very well.]

If we all work together, though... I think we have a better chance of helping this place. You want to help... so let's both touch the cloud with our combined wishes. Think about what you want more than anything.

And. . .if it doesn't work. Will you think me a failure? My Father doesn't, of course, but he's the Spirit of the Earth. I don't know if he can understand.

If this does not work, we will simply find another method until we have succeeded. After all, I am the one who encouraged you to attempt this. No one could blame you, and furthermore- I have faith in you and whatever outcome happens. And of course... faith that your father is so proud of you.

[Gently patting the back of their head comfortingly.]

You know, the reason we sought you out to begin with, is because we want very much for you to be our dear priest. We already find you incredible as you are.
