Cuz as they do advance, a black, shadowy mass seems to roll out of no where, crushing dead logs and bushes, trying to pinpoint their presence. It's not the wolf king, but the mass has several heads--most wolves, some sheep, some other animals, some. Humanoid? Hm.

But it throws itself on the gathering of lights, snapping at nothing, and howling at the fire, and being generally confused. At least a couple wolves do break off from it though, spotting them.

And those are rapidly approaching.]

perci takes a few quick jumps forward, near meeting with the wolves -

and in a burst of lily petals, he disappears! he reappears in another burst of flower petals, intent on leading them farther and father away from the group. he still has the handle gripped, but he is making sure they're going away rather than towards them anyhow. )

[he does have his gun, but honestly he is just going to plant himself between the wolves and the rest of the group as a first line of defense in case any of them get close! if any of them do he is simply going to punch a wolf in the face since he knows that works.]

you would think this means he lets go of the baby leash, but Scarab just generates a tether to wrap around the handle for him

The shadow wolves are instantly distracted by the smell of the lilies, snapping at Perci and following his trail, only to go slippin' cartoonishly when Aides creates the sheet of ice under them. woowoowoowoo there they go

Though, in the brief instance Perci has to let go of the leash before returning, something happens. First, Perci, while brief, experience EXACTLY why he should never let go of his tether. He's close enough to poof back to the group and rejoin, but as soon as he does--]

There's a rumbling of earth as they seem to be suddenly falling downward. Like down a hill or a cliff, it's hard to tell. On the plus side, the lilies are still sprouting! Hooray, you're falling to uncertain doom in the right direction!

On the other hand there's a giant skeletal wolf flying down after you, maybe do something about that before you hit the ground.]

They continue on for a while, at least an hour or more, trying to be as stealthy as possible, when finally. FINALLY. The lilies stop sprouting.

The mist is strangely thinner in this area. It looks to be something like a garden, full of rosebushes, and overgrown vines and foliage. It might be quite beautiful if it wasn't, y'know. All ashen and grey and dead.

Well, not all of it is completely dead. In the center of the garden is a defunct fountain, overrun with brittle vines, and dead leaves decorating its dry basins. Most interesting is what sits atop the fountain though. A brilliant, sparkling, golden statue. . .of Charon.]
