NPC CALL OUT POST

Here, if an NPC isn't around in a post in a main comm, you can hit them up for quests or general questions!

BLOSSOM

Unless noted here, she can be found practically anywhere within the pasture, usually with a big book or trying to help or pacify sheep. ETA POST BABY GAME Blossom can't be contacted! Stormy is in charge--if asked he'll say she's working on shit.

Stormy

He is not as visibly present as Blossom, and may brush you off! But if Blossom is around he's usually Some Where, even if it's not obvious.

Daisy

Daisy is only ever found in her ice cream parlor. Where does she go at night? Mystery. Note: Currently Daffodil has exclusive access to her butter supply, and Clover has exclusive access to her cream. If you want any of these items, you need to ask them! Bluebell and Rose also knows where to find natural salts.

Coco

A mysterious cat found in an underground maze. She currently guards a chamber full of rations, and occasionally distributes a small amount of corn, rice/grains, breads, special root vegetables, and chocolate/coffee. Currently only Daffodil can access the area. ETA As of Day 27 Coco can be found in a little building outside of the fence!! Only Daffodil currently can get inside still, but people can see and talk to her from the windows.

Red

Red's shop is open from sunrise to sunset! He's more than willing to chat and barter. Do not try to talk to him at night. ETA AS OF DAY 31, RED IS MIA. There is a sign on the door that says "Taking Time Off :) If Emergency, ask BS or use your Sheep Rites!"

The Snake

The Snake is a mysterious little entity with a grudge against Blossom! He will only willingly appear for Weeds, but others may have a chance to glimpse him. . .

...Not really for self defense, even that wouldn't do ME much good. I'm just a "high spec in unforgettable luncheons" type maid. What's Final Boss-sama's lunch hour policy, anyway? Is there a catering cart of darkness I should look for?

Um. Personally I go around and steal food. Or ask for handouts.

I mean, there are ways to grow food, or fish, or even hunt, but that's taking time away from mischief-making.

Every flock has a tree outside their barn with fruit growing from it. Some of the flocks have defenses around it. Some of them don't. Some are very vigilant and will get on your case about taking them without asking. Some of them aren't.

It's kind of touch and go. Bluebell has this wide moat around their barn, but the actual people are generally nice enough to just give you blueberries if you ask.

Of course, a handful of blueberries isn't going to get you very far.

You think it's bad enough I couldn't convince some flockfolk to let an experienced pro chef make them food in exchange for some modest maidenly-sized take-home portions?

Actually, that sounds like a really great thing to offer them! But, I don't think most people have full stocked kitchens, so you'll have to really improvise. Salt and pepper is sort of a luxury.

Also, a flock you've already bothered is going to be really wary of you. --See? You have to balance your trust at the same time.

I see, I see... So I'll be a mid-boss serving the final boss who pretends to be the player party's hour-three unlock quality of life feature, while secretly arranging misfortune, misinformation, and generally distracting side quest fodder that leads them away from the real point of their journey.

I'll have to take a little time to scope out who's the good pick to offer my services to while establishing myself as a cute, harmless maiden who couldn't really hurt a fly if she tried.... which is pretty easy, since.

Well, and this is just my personal opinion, but since "create disharmony" through the flocks is one of our goals, universal opposition to us does sort of unite them against a common enemy. But a lot of other black-collars don't think about it.

No, not exactly. I was just going to warn you the bell-collars are going to freak out if they see it on you. And offer you some makeup if it was in an obvious spot. It'd probably be okay, but it would spike the tension a little.

So if it's on your thigh or back or something you can keep covered, all the better.

Well, it's not really a matter of "the snake trusts us to use it wisely." We all just seem to have it, in addition to our other powers which seem to be a little more random.

I'm not sure you're "simple" exactly. You've caught on to the nuances of this whole situation really really fast. I'm not sure if it's because you have a frame of reference in terms of video games, but it has sped up the process. You're the first one to really listen to me, though. Then again, everyone else has pretty much seemed to be openly disdainful to me, pretty much didn't care about the snake or what he's trying to do, or had their own ideas and didn't much care about things like "trust" or "subtlety."

Though I'll admit, calling me "tutorial fairy," has struck me a little too close to home. I mean, I am a video game character who was designed to give a tutorial... or at least that's how I always evaluated myself. I don't really know. It's just the most likely explanation since I am programmed to verbatim say things like "Don't forget to save your game!" Saying it again with you was pretty ironic and gave me an internal chuckle, as well as a bit of an internal identity crisis as I had to remember that about myself.

...As you say, for real. I guess I shouldn't deny it. I became self aware at some point in my life. The fact I'm here now and have an actual flesh and blood body... it's a dream come true, in a way.

But trust me, it was not fun. Don't make me say more.

Anyway, you're much better off using that truth field for the sake of guaranteeing your safety or causing mischief for the sake of mischief. You start using it in ways it gets everyone to reveal their backstory, it gets complicated. If people start telling you "Talk to this flock, it's safe," you absolutely should use it. If they start talking about being raised as a child and their relationship with their parents... well, make sure you're getting your money's worth in terms of 'mischief' it causes if you choose to activate it.

Right, right! And in a place like this, where we're strangers... you won't even get the usual bang for your buck of revealing long lost context for important past events at just the right moment! So it's a really tough power to handle. You might just give someone much-needed emotional catharsis by accident, too... How risky.

I was thinking I'd use it just a little at a time so people wouldn't have a chance to really notice, and act like I don't feel right about using it on people out of moral principle most of the time.

...Nope. There's no way someone can know whether you're using it or not unless they're really paying attention to what they want to say versus what they actually say. I guess there could be a third person continuously trying to lie...? But that's getting kinda complicated.

Well, if that's how you want to handle it, though it sounds pretty risky. There are some very, very wary people at this place who either won't believe you or will wait to catch you.
