[Charon's arm squeezes around him, though not with a lot of strength.]

[ Makes a soft, almost grumbling sound, but squeezes Charon back ]

Everyone did. You should've seen Perci and Chronos dealing with the mist wolves on the way there, and Lethe gave the sweetest speech I've ever heard to all of us to boost our strength.

[ He lets go to stand first, leaning back down to get an arm around Charon's shoulders and tentatively try to haul him to his feet ]

The demon who took me was the ram demon -- the one Thistle attacked. He was badly damaged, but not dead. Blossom was trying to void her deal with him; I approached at the wrong moment, and he took me as some kind of...replacement, with interest, for his destroyed collection.

He offered me to that other demon. I believe they were an estranged couple, and he was attempting to get back into her good graces...? She refused his advances but accepted the gift.

So he abducted you for some...fucked up deal, and used you to try to hook up?

[ There's a rare, icy edge of malevolence creeping into his tone ]

Believe you me, I'm not against hunting that one down later.

We can start a list of future goals and add that to top of it.

...I didn't really think about it before I had Scarab. When I was little sometimes my friends and I would play pretend, but we were always stopping aliens or a human with super powers or something. Rescuing people and then flying away to celebrate in our "secret base" and stuff.

[ Dryly ] If we have a party now, it'd be a little bit like that.
