Re: 2 - CITY CREW
You guys have gotten way too familiar with removing body parts.
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
[ lovingly ruffles his little head ]
Okay, okay, how about this? While Warden is out doing a little recon for us, I can use our weird hat for a few minutes—maybe see if I can grab a few for us. May be a fat chance, but worth a shot…
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
We'll likely still need to use Warden's coin for a better disguise, but it's a start.
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
[ She offers her hand; hat pls, Zenith. ]
I should go in looking like a wolf, right? I don't know if it matters, but...
[ A wolf in the literal wolves' den is about the best bet, she assumes. ]
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
You're gonna do great Spinel. If anyone's got this, you do.
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Then pass that luck onto me. I don't want to kicked in this crowd before I find a fire exit.
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Try to go for wolf, and don't take too long.
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
[ ANYWAY. She takes the beanie, slides it on her head, and—ker-furry'd. We're going for the AC critter option here, wolf style.
Assuming Warden has slipped away to do his own investigating, a fluffier-than-previously Spinel will slink back into the crowds in front of the building, pushing her way through everyone to approach one of the tables set up. ]
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Some people double take at Warden--but that's all it is, a double take. The assume he's just one of the smaller citizens, like a few of the mini sheep scattered here and there. The extra luck boost won't work though--they're technically still in the mist, so Flock powers won't work! Only Weed powers are on (and canon powers).
A shady alleyway reveals...yes, there's a back entrance! But there are two feral masked wolves there. They seem to not be expecting much, as they sit in the dark playing cards. It's not going well cuz neither of them have thumbs, and they can't see cuz of masks. They tried.
MEANWHILE SPINEL, everyone's vying for attention from wolf management, but polite as they are, they will let a younger wolf like her push her way through the front. A tired humanoid wolf in a mask looks overwhelmed but spots her, cocking his head as he doesn't recognize her.
Ah--yes, are you a new refugee? What do you need? ]
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Y– yeah, are you the ones who could help us...? My friends and I just got here, and we don't have much—but I overheard someone asking for masks. At the very least... do you have any to spare?
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
but he knows he has to rely on his wits. throwing something to distract them won't work if they're stationed there, so he puts on his most sad voice and calls out from a distance: ]
Hey, can you tell me what building is this? My uncle told me to meet him with the other refugees, but I think I'm lost.
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Wait, are any of you bitten? If not, I'm sorry, we're low on supplies after the inci--well, you don't need to know that everything's fine promise!! I'm sure we'll get more stock soon. But we can't give out any masks unless it's urgent or there's any sign of infection from the King. . .
[someone tries to shout over Spinel's head. MY HUSBAND WAS BIT!! HE'LL TURN ANY SECOND! Please please please--
She's gotta have a bit more urgency if she wants anything.
MEANWHILE WARDEN--the wolf immediately get on all fours, hackles up before realizing it's just a little rabbit. One opens its mouth and--]
RrrrRRRGGHHHHhhhhgggg!
[...all that comes out are growls. It shakes its head as the other nudges it lightly. Its voice is more coherent, but still gravelly.]
S...sorry....mask...new. This.....HQ....we protect....
Ask wolves....in front....they help.... ]
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Just—just one, then! I'm begging you! We only barely survived the King's rampage!! We're still alive, but my friend—they... Please. I don't know what I'll do if they turn!
[ Hey did you know Spinel can cry on command? Because that's what she's doing right now. ]
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Protect from what? I thought...y'know, we were safe here. Nothing getting past the barrier.
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
King. . .Demon King. . .he'll destroy. . .without masks. . .chaos. . .can't think.
Everyone goes. . .to His Court. . .
[that isn't ominous at all!!
Now Spinel, damn. Okay, ain't no one turned on the WATER WORKS. The worker looks around nervously, before pulling out a wrapped object and sliding it to her. He leans in to whisper so the crowd can't hear.]
It's one of our last ones, but don't let people know, we can't cause a panic. Go take care of your friend, and let someone know immediately if they lose themselves before then. Go!
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Thank you...
[ Sniff. And then, she runs!! Back into the crowds does she disappear, bolting back to where Zenith and Lyra remained. She looks around, cautiously, then: ]
—Heh heh heh. Gooood news, guys.
[ Spinel slips out the wrapped mask. ]
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
...how efficient.
Once Warden returns we can generate some kind of animal costume, and then... we just need to decide what our cover story will be to get into the building.
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
[GONNA GIVE SPINEL A HUG]
It'd help if we knew more about the building at all, wouldn't it? But if they're giving out supplies... maybe it's a government place or something?
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
We're recent refugees who just barely escaped the Wolf King's rampage. So long as we keep blending in, everyone seems like they'll speak pretty freely.

[ it's a risk to speculate without all the facts, but he's hoping this might pay off. and does a little nudge by enacting the zone of truth to see if he can get more out of them. ]
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
Bad. . .bad sheep. . .working for demon. . .they're bad. . .want to hurt everyone. . .
[Whether that's true or not, that's certainly truthfully what THEY believe, anyway.
One's ears perk as it slowly starts to approach Warden.]
Magic. . .smells like Prince. . .why. . .?
[Weed magic *is* derived from him. Whoops!]
Re: 2 - CITY CREW
We found one of his homes back when we were escaping. We, uh, tried to see if there was anything we could use?
[ TECHNICALLY ALL TRUE ]
