[cracks under the weight of his emotions and pulls him into a hug]

[makes a hitched startled noise and puts his face in Lethe's shoulder, like he's having a hard time processing that]

[hugs him as tight as he can; all of the adrenaline seeps out of him and leaves him trembling from the lack of it, but he holds him like he's never going to let go.

he doesn't trust his voice to come out steady, so instead he uses his skill to drop the most important parts into his mind: Everyone is okay. We're back in the pasture. You're safe. You're safe. You're safe. it's as much for him as it is for Charon.]

[if he's getting emotional bleedback Charon is maybe freaking out more than a little and being actively soothed at the same time. he wasn't processing a lot of the last three-odd days in realtime; he's only really getting to do so now. it's a lot

he's rubbing Lethe's back a lil tho. the hug is mutually grounding.]

[he cannot control his skill at all at the moment so he's getting all of the emotional bleedback. his relief at Charon being alive and whole is so strong it threatens to drown him before he pulls it together enough to box that back up. don't cry.

Do you want help calming down, or...? gives Charon's back a deliberate pat in a wordless offer; there is no need to take it, if it is better for him to work through it as he is. but the offer is there if he wants it.]

[he's getting a kiss on the forehead. god. the weary surge of affection alongside the trauma is probably A Lot, also

[he tugs every emotion towards himself, curling around it to keep it close. it doesn't matter if it's tenderness or suffering; he holds affection like it's made of diamonds and wraps hurt and misery and pain in spools of care and warmth, dampening their spikes.

it's only after he's collected everything Charon lets bleed through that he gets self-conscious about the gesture. abruptly, connection lessens, though it doesn't vanish. he clears his throat and speaks, voice still a little hoarse]

Rest sounds good. Do you think you can stand?

[he PROBABLY also got startlement somewhere in there as Charon's emotions get wrapped up anyway. what the fuck. people will just do that? people will just ignore what you say and soothe you?

he doesn't pull away from the gesture, though. quiet]

[those emotions are still being soothed, even! it's just quieter, less immediately noticeable. shifts his weight to make sure that he can stand up, and gives a small nod when he's confident that he can]

I can carry you, if you don't mind that.

[shakes his head, recoiling slightly from the concept; it's not quite that he doesn't want to be carried around more, and more that he does not want to be hauled somewhere completely not under his own power again at the moment, even by someone he trusts]

[nods; there was a reason he asked instead of just scooping him right up. it takes a moment for Lethe to remember how to let go--his muscles don't seem to want to work that way--but his fingers loosen and release their grip on Charon's clothes, and he unwraps himself just enough to stand and offer a hand up]

[Charon takes his hand! he needs the assist to get to his feet, and he needs a further assist to walk back to the barn, but he isn't totally disabled, just not fully together at the moment. probably a normal sleep will help(?)

he is tired.]

[Lethe is not letting go of his hand, so he'll help him back to the barn and help him get to wherever he would like to faceplant into bed. does Charon even use his room anymore, are they just going to the pillow pit again]

[pillow pit or couch, that bedroom simply lost all hope of being used as a bedroom after the bomb ritual]

[the couch is honestly the closest so he's going on the couch unless he wants to move to the pillow pit later. Lethe somehow manages to pull out a bunch of extra pillows and blankets without letting go of Charon's hand so that he can deposit them all on top of him, and then does a quick headcount to make sure everyone came inside]

[Charon is also tracking who entered -- his gaze lingers on Minuet, who's staying outside, before the door is shut -- but his eyes are suspiciously heavy, as is the fact that he lets himself be put on the couch and buried without comment. he also will not let go of Lethe's hand.]

[Lethe goes momentarily still when he realizes Minuet isn't there, bristly indignation spiking up when it is apparent that he just left. it bleeds through as a vibrant splash of emotion that wakes him right up from his dazed state. he moves as if to go and drag Minuet inside, only to be stopped as soon as his arm is pulled taut where his hand is holding Charon's. he would have to let go to keep going, and his mind rebels against that.

frustration gives way to tiredness, and though he stands there sorely tempted to leave for a few minutes, he can't bring himself to. he settles himself on the couch, shoulders comfortably touching.]

...Get some rest.

[his memories are still pretty muddled but he got enough sense of other people's alarm around Lethe to take drastic measures here fortunately

by 'drastic measures' i mean he tips sideways over Lethe's lap to imprison him exactly like a cat would]

[what. what is happening here.

after a long moment where he doesn't know what to do with this, followed by being acutely aware of where everyone is in the room, he runs his fingers through Charon's hair, gentle and soothing]

[yeah he's just going to shut his eyes

maybe he doesn't pass out again right away but he lives here now]

[Lethe is trapped forever

he is going to try and wait for Charon to fall asleep so he can angrily cubecall Minuet but there's a fifty-fifty chance that Lethe falls asleep first because he hasn't slept in a few days]

[i hope minuet gets a cubecall but it's just disgruntled snoring]
