[he's getting a kind of slowly rising panic back as Charon slowly, slowly starts to process multiple days and a mind dive's worth of input, though what Minuet's sending is blunting its raw edge

he's going to have a complex about it later but right now he doesn't have it in him to rationalize against or push back at Minuet's own possessiveness. just literally doesn't have the strength not to want it. hides his face in the feathers if they get up there much like he did with Perci's wing]

The wing around him quivers a little though, and he settles in for however long Charon wishes to stay hidden there. The very least he can offer. ]

[the least he can offer is a lot more than Charon would outright ask for at a moment like this. that's something to maybe unpack later along with the hundred million things they are going to have to either unpack later or completely avoid eye contact with, depending.

even when everyone finally picks themselves up enough to start heading back towards the barns he's not being let go, though. he probably will not be until someone chivvies him somewhere he can sleep, and even then it's probably by accident.]

He lets Lily take the lead in deciding what to do with the rescued princess, though he expects (and hopes) it involves dropping him in a pile of pillows and watching him like a hawk at all hours.

(It's what he wants to do. Put Charon somewhere safe and guard him himself, fangs bared, rest of the world be damned)

But that is not what he does. He lets Charon hang onto him until whenever they reach Lily's threshold. That's when the wing finally folds away and he doesn't follow. ]
